This epoxy based, synthetic resin primer provides a high degree of protection against corrosive environments both inside and outside the adhesive bondline and is formulated for optimal performance when used with 250°F curable 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive Films.

    3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive Primer EC-3917 is a heat-curing, corrosion-inhibiting primer designed to enhance the performance of 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ epoxy-based film adhesives in Aerospace bonding applications. Formulated with corrosion-inhibitive pigments, EC-3917 provides durable protection against salt spray, high humidity, common aircraft fluids, and long-term environmental exposure.     3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive EC-2216 B/A Gray is a flexible, two-part, room-temperature curing epoxy adhesive that provides high shear and peel strength, making this an ideal adhesive for the most demanding Aerospace applications. It maintains bond strength at low temperatures and stands up to challenging environmental conditions. It is often used to replace mechanical fasteners, screws, rivets and spot welds, and is excellent for bonding a variety of substrates such metal and many plastics. This epoxy is excellent for creating bonds that can be used at cryogenic temperatures and is widely used for composite laminate edge sealing. The mix ratio is 2:3 and the adhesive provides a 90-minute work life to allow time to adjust fit prior to setting. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately 12 hours and is fully cured in 7 days (at 72° F /22° C) but can be accelerated with heat.

Engineered to become sag-resistant within approximately 30 seconds of mixing, it stays in place without running or dripping, ensuring precise application on vertical or overhead surfaces. A workable open time of 5–15 minutes allows for accurate part positioning, while full cure is achieved in 24 hours at room temperature—or faster with added heat—to help maintain production flow.

    This versatile adhesive can be applied using a spatula, trowel, or flow equipment, and provides reliable performance across metals including aluminum and steel, with shear strength values suited for demanding environments.
